Course Title: Animal Husbandry I

Course Description : This course intends to provide 5th semester students in-dept. knowledge and practical field experience on. Characteristics of the major breeds of farm animal species, husbandry and management of farm animals such as dairy and beef cattle, horses, sheep and goats, of some of companion animals and poultry. The course also covers Breeding and feeding systems, and basic management practices for farm animals and poultry establishments. Housing and equipment requirements for animals in specific types of operations will be examined. Herd health and reproduction managements programs for different livestock establishments will be taught throughout the course
