Course Title : Sustainable Agriculture / Animal Husbandry

Course Description:This course discusses the development of sustainable agriculture, as applied to both crop and animal production. Thepresent state of conventional agriculture, and the impact of intensive agricultural production systems: an irreversible trend.
Principles of sustainable agriculture, alternative agricultural production systems (organic, integrated and precision agriculture). Soil fertility andimprovements. Principles of biological and integrated control of insects, diseases and weeds. Agro-biodiversity assessment and management.Implementing organic fruit and vegetable production. Sustainable management in post–harvest preservation methods.
