Course Title : Pesticide Science

Course Description:Introduction to Pesticide Science. Principles and concepts of pest and disease management during cultivation of crop plants.Chemicals for crop protection, a historical review. Chemistry and classification of the active ingredients of pesticides. Physicochemical andbiological properties, biochemistry and toxicology of the main groups of pesticides, including insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, bactericides,nematicides and other plant protection products. Plant uptake, translocation and metabolism of pesticides. Biochemical modes of action andmechanisms of selective toxicity.
