Course Title : Statistics / Biometry

Course Description:An introductory course in Statistics with special reference to its biological applications (Biometry). It covers the followingsubjects: Population and Sample. Descriptive Statistics (Tables and Graphs. Measures of Central Tendency and Dispersion). Probability Theory.Normal Distribution. Confidence Intervals for the mean value and for proportions. Hypothesis Testing for the means (independent sample or pairedsample t- test). One Way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). Simple Linear Regression and Correlation. Chi square test of association. The coursecomprises lectures, tutorials and applications using computers.
