Course Title: Material and Energy Balances

Short Course Description: Review of engineered systems for prevention and control of pollution.

Fundamentals of material and energy balances; use of overall and differential balances to

develop fluid flow, heat, and mass transfer equations;

  1. introduction to chemical

  2. thermodynamics and kinetics;

  3. analysis of reactor systems to address environmental problems including solid and hazardous waste, air, water, soil and noise pollution.
